Women’s Fellowship
The Women’s Fellowship meets in the Meeting Room at 2.30pm on the fourth Thursday each month.
Throughout the year we enjoy a varied program of events, our meetings open with prayer, readings and favourite hymns, before we are suitably entertained by a speaker and following our talks we have afternoon tea. Meetings close around 4.30pm.
Visitors and new members are always welcome, so if you are free on the 4th Thursday of the month
(excluding December) please come along and be assured of an interesting afternoon and a warm welcome.
We enjoy a summer outing each year and the venue in June is a visit to Mark’s Hall Estate. The gardens and lakes are beautiful, and an added attraction for the less able bodied is that there is a motorised vehicle driven by a volunteer of Mark’s Hall, who is happy to show anyone around the arboretum the scenic and easy way.
In January we celebrate the New Year by dining out. This we do at lunch time instead of our usual monthly meeting. This year we went to the Blue Strawberry at Hatfield Peverel, a most enjoyable occasion.
The Women’s Fellowship takes an active part in many events in the church. Christingle, with funds raised being sent to the Children’s Society, Mothering Sunday, Lenten Lunches in Braintree,Easter, Summer Fete, Harvest Festival, Harvest Supper, Christmas and more beside.
During 2009 we were delighted to welcome three new members to our Fellowship, one from All Saints Rayne and two from Great Notley.
